Welcome to the blog, sweet friend!
I can hardly believe you’re here! Yay, it’s a total confetti moment!! What a journey it’s been to finally say… I have a website and now a blog! It only took me 7 years (I know, right?!). But along the way, I’ve been fueled by perseverance and incredible encouragement from friends like you. Everyone needs a cheerleader, don’t they?
If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed or unsure about how to keep going, let me remind you: joy is a spiritual weapon for Christian women. It’s not just a personality trait; it’s a powerful tool that helps you navigate life’s toughest moments. Together, we just landed in a corner of the internet that’s honest, hopeful, and maybe just a little bit hilarious, too. I’ll try to contain my super-bubbly-personality, but no promises.

Who am I?
Hello there! I’m Dee Humphrey, and this is where real life and real faith meet over tea, along with a few tears—both from belly laughs and those “Lord, help me” moments. Life is never dull when you’re a wife to a proud Boomer Sooner fanatic, mama to two amazing young adults, and dog mom to two spoiled-rotten pups, Goose & Griffin (spoiled like… dee-cayed and rotten to the core—but LOVED!). I’m a Jesus-loving small-town girl who believes grace can show up in a grocery aisle just as powerfully as it does on a Sunday morning.
But here’s the thing: I once believed I could conquer anything. That was before a botched back surgery at 36 flipped my world upside down. Suddenly, life became a whirlwind of doctor’s appointments, an unexpected life-long disability, and learning how to navigate a new reality. Yet, in the middle of that holy upheaval, Jesus met me in the wreckage—teaching me that sweet surrender isn’t just found in physical strength, but in quiet trust that runs deep in the soul. When I learned: hello world, joy is a spiritual weapon, it completely changed how I approached my pain and struggles.
What You’ll Find Here
This space isn’t about pretending we’ve got it all figured out. It’s not about perfection—it’s about sacred chaos. The kind of everyday faith that gets built between couch surfing, midnight prayers, daily chronic pain, belly laughs, and quiet miracles.
You’ll find stories that don’t shy away from the hard stuff. Biblical truth that doesn’t feel like a lecture. And encouragement that meets you where you are—not where you “should” be.
For the past twenty-five years, I’ve walked alongside women through the highs, heartbreaks, and everything in between—leading Bible studies, planning Gospel-centered events, and digging deep into discipleship. My training at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary has equipped me to help women unlock their God-given potential. Thanks SEBTS!
But more than any credential, what I want you to know is this: You matter. Your story matters. And no season is too messy for God to work His goodness through it.
A Few Things I’d Tell You Over Tea/Coffee:
- Joy isn’t a personality trait—it’s a spiritual weapon for Christian women. Walking through a devastating season of disability, I learned there is still joy in Him. Learn more about my journey and what inspires me here.
- I still get chills reading Scripture I’ve read a hundred times—because God never stops showing up.
- I’m fluent in puns, passionate about prayer, and prone to laugh at completely inappropriate moments (Sorry, Mom. Still working on it).
- I adore sunshine, Southern hospitality, and the kind of community that smiles while cheering each other on.
What an honor!
So friend, wherever you are—sprinting, stumbling, or sitting still—you belong here. No spiritual resume required.
This isn’t a place to perform. It’s a place to be reminded: Even on your hardest days, you are heard, you are seen, and God is still writing your story into something beautiful. Welcome to the journey friend. I can’t wait to hear you say too: Hello world, joy is a spiritual weapon. Let’s get joyfully Dee-termined to live with purpose, hope, and a little holy grit—together. Why? Because joy is our spiritual weapon.
đź’›With love and joy,
— Dee
(And yes—I’m absolutely Dee-lighted you’re here!)
